If additional costs arise during the project, we will discuss these with you and agree on the best course of action. Once agreed, we request payment for any additional materials before the extra work begins.

Any additional labour costs, if required, will be added to the final payment.

Do you provide a quote before starting work?

Absolutely. Together we will assess the job requirements and provide a no-obligation quote detailing all costs so there are no surprises.

How quickly can you start work?

It depends on the job, your timeline and our schedule, but we aim to respond promptly and arrange a convenient time to begin.

Do you work on weekends?

Yes, we can accommodate weekend appointments, depending on availability. Please let me know what works best for you.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes, we offer emergency services to address urgent electrical issues. You can contact us anytime, and we strive to assist as quickly as possible.

Please note, for full transparency, our call-out charge is £70 per hour after 7pm (including the first hour), then £50 per additional hour.

Do I need an electrician for small jobs, like replacing a light fitting?

Yes, it’s always safer to hire a electrician for even small jobs to ensure the work complies with safety regulations and is done correctly.

What safety regulations must electricians follow?

Electricians must comply with key regulations, including the:

  1. Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
  2. BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
  3. Part P of the Building Regulations for domestic work.

They must also follow the Health and Safety at Work Act, use appropriate PPE, and ensure proper certification of their work.

Will I receive a certificate for the work?

Yes, for all relevant jobs, we will provide the appropriate certificates, such as an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate, to confirm the work complies with UK standards.

How much does an electrician cost in the UK?

Costs depend on the type of work and its complexity. We provide transparent pricing, so feel free to contact me for a tailored quote. You can find more information about industry and our competative pricing via this link. 

What our your payment terms?

Once the price and scope of work are agreed upon, we request a deposit at least 5 working days before the start date to cover material costs. The remaining balance for labour is due in full upon completion of the project.

Please note: While materials are purchased specifically for your project, they remain the property of DZ Electrical until the final payment has been made.
